Miss Avril Cummins

Cert IV Veterinary Nurse, Cert III Equine Industry Studies

Avril grew up in County Wicklow, Ireland and has always had a keen interest in animals. She made the big move to Australia in 2011 where she has since gained Australian citizenship. Since moving to Australia, she has worked at several top thoroughbred farms in the Hunter Valley. It was her time spent in the Hunter where her passion for horses grew, particularly the management and treatment of sick mares and foals. In 2013, she moved to the Hawkesbury where she worked in several racing stables whilst completing her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing along with a Cert III in Equine Industry Studies.  After graduating, Avril returned to the Hunter where she consolidated her practical experience with her formal nursing qualification.  In August 2018, Avril moved to the Southern Highlands where she joined the SHEC team as a veterinary nurse.
