Josie Ferraro BSc (Equine)

Born in Bendigo, Victoria, and the eldest of six children, Josie pursued her interest in horses by trading keyboard lessons for horse riding lessons at the age of 14. She then found a casual job after school and saved to buy her first ‘pony’ – a palomino appaloosa named Bob. Bob followed Josie to University at Wagga CSU, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies(with distinction). Josie later worked at the RSPCA, Yagoona and then for several racehorse stables at Warwick Farm, before taking a vet nurse position at Randwick Equine Centre in 2002. Marriage followed a few years later, and then the arrival of three beautiful children Issabella, Rocco and Michael. After several years ‘away’ raising her children, Josie today is a valued member of the SHEC team both as vet nurse and office manager.
